It looks like what you're trying to select might be on another layer. Switch to one to make it selectable:
Cabinet Builder
Click on the wall to place each cabinet point. The body draws once you have two points — if it's on the wrong side of your path, hit F or the Flip button to swap. Right-click undoes the last point. Click Finish to commit, Esc to cancel.

Units
Display dimensions in feet & inches, or in millimeters / meters. Drawing data is stored independently of this choice — switching units never changes the dimensions of anything you've drawn.
Give Feedback
You're a beta tester — your notes go straight to the team. Tell us what's working,
what isn't, what you wish existed. We read every one.
We'll also include a small report — the screen you're on, the tool you had selected,
and your last few actions — so we can reproduce what you saw.
Easy Draft — Help
Getting started
Easy Draft is a residential drafting tool with two modes, switched from the toggle in the top bar:
Draw — build your drawing on the canvas.
Plan — arrange the drawing onto printable pages and export a PDF.
Pick a layer first. Every shape lives on a layer, shown in the Layers panel on the right and the status block at the bottom-left. New shapes land on the active layer.
The grid is in feet with snapping on by default. Adjust grid size and snap in the top bar.
Your work auto-saves in this browser, so a reload won't lose it. Use File → Save to keep a .dstudio.json file, and File → Open to load one.

Tools
The toolbar runs down the left edge. Shortcut keys are in parentheses.
Select (V) — select, move, resize, rotate, and edit shapes. Drag on empty canvas to marquee-select; Shift-click to add to a selection.
Line (L) — draw straight lines. On the Walls layer, select a line and give it a thickness to turn it into a solid wall.
Box (B) — draw rectangles.
Stairs (S) — place a stair run.
Text (T) — drop a note anywhere on the drawing.
Measure (M) — measure distances. Right-click for Get square footage.
Pan (H, or hold Space) — drag to move around. Scroll to zoom.
Walls, doors & windows
Draw walls with the Line tool on the Walls layer, then select a line and set its thickness to make a solid wall. Walls miter at corners automatically.
Open the Windows & Doors catalog and drag a door or window onto a wall — it automatically cuts the opening to fit.
Delete a door or window and the wall heals back into one continuous wall.
Floors & square footage
On the Floor layer, draw a region and choose a material pattern (hardwood, LVP, tile, carpet). The pattern stops cleanly at the faces of any walls on top of it.
To label an area's size: with the Measure tool, right-click and choose Get square footage. Click each corner of the area, then click the first point again (or press Enter) to close it and drop a label. Right-click removes the last point; Esc cancels.
The label box is draggable. Select it to see a ghost of the shape it measures.
Shift-click two or more square-footage labels: a bar shows their combined total with a Create combined square footage shape button.
Furniture & fixtures
The Windows & Doors, Kitchen, Bathroom, and Furniture layers are catalogs — the right-side panel shows items to drag onto the canvas.
Appliances snap against walls when placed nearby.
A run of cabinets automatically cuts around an appliance placed on it, and heals when the appliance is removed.
Stories & layers
A drawing is organized into stories (First, Second, …), each with sub-layers (Floor, Walls, Windows & Doors, Kitchen, …).
In the Layers panel you can show/hide, rename, recolor, reorder, and add layers and stories. Click a layer to make it active.
Catalog layers swap the panel for their item catalog; the drawing tools fall back to Select on those layers.
Plan mode & printing
Switch to Plan to lay your drawing onto printable pages. Set each page's paper size, orientation, and scale.
Pages can be a Drawing, a Schedule (door/window tables), or a Sheet Index. Turn on a drawing page's outline (the eye icon in the Pages list) to position your drawing within it on the Draw canvas.
File → Export produces a PDF. Free exports include a watermark; Pro exports are clean.
Units
Switch between Imperial (feet & inches, e.g. 3'-6") and Metric (mm / m, e.g. 1067 mm) in File → Settings. Every dimension, label, and the grid updates to match.
Account & Pro
File → Log In opens a sign-in popup without leaving your drawing. Once you're signed in with an active Pro plan, your permissions update automatically and exports come out clean.
File → Log Out ends the session. Your current plan shows as a badge in the top bar.
